A Beloved (Dis)integration

A Beloved (Dis)integration was composed in response to poems written by Steph Dressler and myself. The impetus for both poems was the process of self-discovery – especially relating to queerness. They deal with themes of acceptance, mystery, falling apart, and self-actualization. My poem, A Field of Flowers only partially exists as text in the piece, whereas Dressler's text, Becoming, appears in full.

A slow unraveling of my skin

Mine, but another's

Reveals a curious blood

I've longed to drown in
