- Program Notes
- The initial musical gesture that opens this piece is a regular pulsation that appears in the distance and fades away, very soft, as if we were listening to the air breathing, or the perception of the dripping of water when we move away from it and only the echo remains. This pulsation gradually breaks up and blurs into complex textures and harmonies. Throughout the piece there are several attempts to bring the purity of the beginning back, but the passage of time and the cracks in the musical discourse - as in human life - prevent us from the exact reconstruction of an image or a sound from the past.

This piece is inspired by the aesthetic experience of watching Andrei Tarkovsky's film Nostalghia (1983).
