Noah Ahanu Blair (b. 2005)  is a composer and double bassist from Dubuque, Iowa. He is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in music composition at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory studying under composer Paul Rudy. He is also studying double bass at the conservatory under Professor Keith Wymer. Noah began playing bass at 11 years of age, quickly being accepted into many regional honors orchestras within Iowa, including the North-East Iowa String Teacher’s Association festival, the Kennedy Honors Orchestra, and the Iowa Junior Honors Orchestra Festival. Noah has also made it into the Iowa All-State Music Festival all four years of his high school career, and was also principal bassist of the Hempstead High School chamber orchestra and the Dubuque Symphony Youth Orchestra. He has also performed with the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra under the direction of William Intrilligator.

Noah began composing in his early teens as he gained a passion for musical theory and writing. He first began taking lessons with composer and violist Tracy Rush, and then later studied under the direction of composer Luke Flynn. He has had several pieces performed, including Fantasia for Solo Flute (2023), and Dances in Four Colors (2024), and The Ferryman (2025).
