The Blessing of Asceticis

"The Blessing of Asceticism (Дабраслаўленне Аскезы)" is a piano miniature (1:23) written in an accessible contemporary style. It is slightly above average in difficulty due to the presence of subtle polyphony and polyrhythms, yet it sounds remarkably simple and optimistic to the ear, despite some mild dissonances. I wrote it on the eve of my birthday with the idea of sublimating the negative emotions of accepting poverty through the grace of asceticism, which ultimately offers a positive perspective on it.
