A Black Metal Opera exploring historical and contemporary ideas about nature, ecology, myth, political radicalization and the relationship between art and propaganda.
The work is constructed as a fragmented and quasi mythical narrative created by fictionalizing, combining, transforming, anonymizing and juxtaposing material from a whole host of sources, including but not limited to:Â
Auditory and biographical material related to the life and work of Robert Schumann & Pelle Ohlin.
Text material from various conservationist and environmental philosophies, movements & practices (e.g. Wandervogel, Biocentrism, Deep Ecology, Spiritual Ecology, Resacralization of Nature Movements, Dauerwald etc.)
Nature related propaganda material used to manipulate the public in the third reich (“Ewiger Wald” & “Blood & Soil” etc.) and during the “Waldsterben crisis” of the 80’s.Â
AI recreations of historical paintings from the romantic era, historical propaganda films etc.
