Color Folds

Color Folds is based on a primary level of organization centered on a relational sound space, structured around the continuous oscillation of specific fundamental frequencies. This generates a timbral-harmonic surface that appears stable, yet is constantly reconfigured through subtle deviations, shifts, and internal variations.

From this evolving matrix, differentiated figures emerge, forming a second level that both derives from and destabilizes the first. These figures unfold through processes of expansion and contraction, creating irregular, sometimes abrupt morphologies that intermittently come into focus before dissolving back into the underlying texture.

The piece can be heard as a continuous process of folding: a single sonic surface repeatedly bending, multiplying, and stratifying into layered configurations of the same color. These folds are not neutral—they generate tensions, ruptures, and suspended states that interrupt and reshape the flow. At times, the sound becomes dense and material, almost opaque; at others, it lightens and disperses, especially toward the end, as if releasing itself from its own weight.
