This is an experimental piece that I wrote as a challenge a year back. I wanting to work on giving an minimalistic theme, evolving into something almost environmental. The area I live in rarely get power outages, but when it does, it greatly affects me, reminding me of a flickering candle, which I actually use to light around my house sometimes. Knowing that a candle could flicker out at any moment, like my power during a storm, creates a running anxiety in my mind, encouraging the running motif played in this work. There are some moments of pause, contemplation, and even reminiscences of a better time, but reality always shifts its way in. Until the power finally comes on, and I return to my usual life.
