Folk songs from around the world are a fascinating testament to human joy in singing, existing independently of artistic or artificial discourses and modifications. Due to their brevity and technical simplicity, they are reduced to the essentials while simultaneously providing space for new creative developments that can grow around these melodies like tendrils. In the recomposition, the text and original context of the melodies were consciously disregarded. These adaptations are therefore to be understood less as settings of a text and more as personal musical reveries. They unfold the musical material that precedes any setting in its original form, arising from subtle musical approaches and the immediate impact of sound.
