The Uncertainty of Joy

"The Uncertainty of Joy—what kind of title is that?" you might ask yourself. "Joy is joy." Well, maybe. But sometimes you find yourself in a gleeful situation with a bit of gravity—the sort where maybe the terrific is tinged with a little trepidation, and the carefree comes with consequence. The sort of situation that you know is sublime, but one that changes everything. The joy is real, but so is the realization that things will never be the same again.
