invisible strings shivering
we’re walking on a fine line
In invisible strings shivering #2, I set out to explore the essence of chamber music: a search for the kind of magic that has accompanied and fascinated me since my childhood. Two musicians are physically connected by nylon threads attached to their instruments, guiding the audience on a journey from the archaic sounds of the nylon to the fragile tones of guitar harmonics.
The nylon preparation introduces a visual layer to the performance: the
shimmering of the threads in the light, the tactile interaction as the musicians touch and play them, and the sticky substance that—both symbolically and physically— binds the performers together. This connection, at once delicate and resilient, becomes a metaphor for the intimacy and interdependence at the heart of chamber music.
