From Dawn Till Dusk

From Dawn till Dusk is a composition written for the Silesian Composers’ Tribune. The piece is a musical reflection on the emotions accompanying different times of day, presented through the composer’s subjective perspective.

The individual sections vary in length: the first — illustrating dawn — and the third — depicting evening — serve as a prelude and interlude connecting the longer sections representing day and night. The music includes references to elements of nature as well as expressions of emotions evoked by the changing environment and the events we experience. The piece opens with the timid, gradual awakening of dawn, which then unfolds into the dynamic and ever-changing daytime, where moments of stillness appear despite the surrounding rush. Evening brings a sense of calm, while the night — inspired by watching fireflies on the composer’s way home — introduces an atmosphere of mystery.
