This composition draws inspiration from the narrative and social phenomenon of “lost contact.” In the era of globalization, conversations that begin as dialogues often end as monologues. The work represents and interprets this phenomenon through sound materials—using live electronics to symbolize phone notifications and a snare drum to embody the typing from fingers.
The interaction between these two media is presented through improvisation that follows the intensity and narrative of this phenomenon. The piece was premiered at “Pulsasi”, an event by the Composition Department of Pelita Harapan University, at Building B426, Pelita Harapan University, on May 28, 2025.
A fixed-media version of this work was also premiered at the Immersive Festival in Lisbon, Portugal, from March 20–23, 2025.
