- Program Notes
- The title "Sequitur" refers to the continuity in the piece. Each movement is prepared by another movement in order to create a sense of forward momentum. The music doesn't rupture, but ripples. The frequency of these "sequiturs" increases throughout the work, culminating in the final cascade. The purpose of the proportional notation used in the score is to communicate this developmental structure of the piece.
