Elegie in Bb Minor was composed in autumn 2025 and explores tension
and release through shifting harmonies and interwoven melodic lines between
the instruments. Moments of intensity are built from rhythmic momentum
and close interaction, gradually giving way to more reflective passages. The music moves through tonal areas, allowing colour and character to
evolve while maintaining a strong sense of forward motion. Throughout the
work, recurring motifs are transformed and re-contextualised, creating a sense
of continuity and growth. Elegie in Bb Minor ultimately balances drive and
lyricism, aiming to capture an emotional journey that feels both restless and
intimate.
