Axios

"Axios" is comprised of two types of material: material based on ancient Greek scales and material based on the Greek text from revelation 4:11 ("Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things..."). The piece is essentially a song of praise. However instead of the text being sung by a typical human voice, it is the ensemble, the instruments, the complexity of sound colours that are singing in worship, as if it were the created acoustic world testifying via its unusual and intricate beauty to the glory of God.
