This piece is inspired by the concept of “aria da baule”, that is the practice widespread in the 19th century, according to which the singers carried with them, as a luggage, some arias - their “ace up the sleeve”, and performed them in other operas."Songs from the trunk" reflects this practice, transferring it to the pop-rock saxophone repertoire from the 1960s to the present: each piece develops some musical material from famous songs in which the sax plays an importantrole. Each piece therefore has different songs mixed within itself, without however making the original recognizable. Also the titles of the individual pieces are the result of a random juxtaposition of words taken from theoriginal titles.
