Four distinct traces, each like a different type of glass, organically connected to one another. At times, they are in conflict, shattering and reflecting light in unpredictable ways; at other times, they converge, creating brief, intricate imitations through delicate brush strokes. This piece is a covert effort of historically connected ideas striving to reveal themselves, while simultaneously concealing behind a complex timbral phenomenon. The journey of Downfall is one of ambivalence, where these contrasting yet interconnected touches are embodied on the same canvas. Each presents its expression as if it were a mere semblance, fragile and deceptive, like the many forms of glass—pure, stained, frosted, and shattered—that shape the narrative.
