Black Blossom - for oscillator, keyboard, guitar and cello

Black Blossom (2023) for oscillator, keyboard, guitar and cello Black Blossom is a piece dedicated to an unconventional instrumentation setting inspired by the poem “A Woman Speaks” by Audre Lorde. This Piece is focused on long form, slow and restrained melodies that evolve slowly over time. The piece utilizes aspects of hyper listening as well as intense performance restraint and unity practiced by the performers. Over the course of approximately 7 minutes, you will hear this slightly impure yet gorgeous harmonic progression interact with these unique voices (ranging from melody to textures or fundamental drones) which cultivate in an intensely delicate blossoming of emotion heard via sonic discovery.
