Cuélebre

Composed for the world famous Mivos Quartet and the 2023 Valencia International Performing Arts Summer Festival in Valencia Spain. A nine minute string quartet movement using microtonal motifs, fast chromatic passages and haunting melodies illustrates the Cantabrian story of the monks of the Convent of Santo Domingo de Oviedos’ fight against the the mythical dragon the Cuélebre. This piece is one of many present in the album Mythos which all musically describe mythical creatures, monsters and humans.
