From the time we are born, our biological clock begins ticking. Our perception of time quickens with each year. Our relationship to our experiences changes and things that felt incredibly significant and awe-inspiring become trivial. The self becomes weathered by a lifetime of activity and, in the face of inevitable annihilation, it becomes increasingly important to cling to love and purpose. That is why this piece is dedicated to my wife Madison Pfeiffer who helped me develop the concept and supplied the material the music is based on. In an often confusing and difficult life, she has been my love and purpose.
