"Smoothly the Sun Sets" is a setting of an original poem of mine. This poem describes a sun set over the ocean, a metaphor death or rather a peaceful passing from one world to the next. The piano outro quotes from Michael Gaspari's "Ocean" from their album

Smoothly the Sun Sets

Smoothly the Sun Sets, Over seas of sorrow, Gently stroking salient swells, Soothing chronic sores.

Slowly the Sun Sets, Painting the sky as it sinks, Casting thick brush strokes, Bruised with violets and blues.

Softly the Sea Stares, Up towards the sky’s dizzying canvas, Seeing it unfold like a lifespan, Letting it seep through the surface of her being.

Celestially the moon rises, Surrounded with stars that shine like angels, Seducing the sea like a rapturous dream, Gently pulling its lifeless body.
