Passion 2 for piano (Trails of Memory)

This Passion for piano refers to the medieval Passion play. Indeed I meld tiny fragments of medieval music into the piece - like pure fragments from a distant past becoming part of the fabric of a much larger work.

The source for Passion II (subtitled Trails of Memory) is the melancholic ballata 'Non Avra ma Pieta' by Landini. This pure serene melody keeps returning in guises of increasing intensity, reflecting the fragility of art in times of war.
