- bright shining light was composed in memory of Alexei Navalny and all those who fight oppression. This organ work embodies the resilience of those who continue to resist, refusing to surrender to the forces of injustice. While the piece contains pauses, they are not intended to provide moments of repose. Instead, they reflect the unsettling stillness of resistance, a refusal to acquiesce in the face of adversity. Just as any struggle for freedom persists through unrelenting challenges, the music never “gives up.” It is a sonic manifestation of endurance, offering a counterpoint to the constant chatter of life's inequities. The work’s gradual transition from bold, declarative gestures to a quiet, almost cosmic whisper mirrors the tension between defiance and the quiet strength required to persist, even when victory seems distant.
