whalesong!

whalesong! tells the story of a whale and a diver learning to understand one another through conversation. The whale (piano) is lamenting in the ocean, while the diver (clarinet) is initially excited but calms down once it sees the whale’s sadness. Once the diver empathises with the whale’s songs through a gentle phrase, the whale mimics and responds. Eventually, the whale and diver form a deep connection only found between humanity and the natural world.
