The term "oneironaut" can be defined as someone who is able to consciously travel through dreams, whether their own or someone else's - in other words, the practice of lucid dreaming. I've always been interested in the science of dreams, how they work, what they mean, and this piece aims to encapsulate the kind of surreal and often bizarre worlds that dreams can manifest as.
As such, I used a lot of hazy and distant sounds, with blurry harmonies blending with splashes of resonance that float inconspicuously around, creating this ethereal, Gaussian texture that is so often associated with dreams. The combination of metal percussion instruments adds to this psychedelic atmosphere, their resonant qualities allowing for clouds of sound to build and gradually extinguish, as if moving between dreamscapes.
