I've recently been enamored with the concept of nonsense poetry, poetry that is well-crafted in form and grammar, but says nothing meaningful. I wanted to write a piece that carried that ethos, a piece that was fun and didn't burden itself with trying to convey a message, but at the same time was meticulously thought out form-wise. To that end, I chose to use a famous nonsense poem from Mother Goose as the base material, "Hey Diddle Diddle."
