Senza #1

Commissioned by Mise-En New Music Festival in New York for its 2019 edition, Senza belongs to a cycle of pieces - here fragment #1 - that originates and develops from the painful experience of loss and the feeling of irreversibility. The piece rests in a concave harmonic space defined by the two ends of the available pitch range, and develops repetitive timbral elements through a controlled use of resonance, damped tones and inharmonic interpolations. An exploration of absence and at the same time the search for a presence through the traces left by sound in material space and time.
