Filum (after Lotti) is a piece that explores connections between contemporary approaches to pitch circularity and Baroque suspension chains. The piece consists of two large sections, the first of which establishes several textural layers that gradually expand outward in pitch. The second section reframes these textures as filters through which Antonio Lotti’s Et in terra pax from his Missa Vide Domine laborem meum emerges.
