Lo podrido

Los primeros meses de composición de Lo podrido fueron simultáneos a la escritura de un relato finalmente absorbido por la música. Pero lo absorbido da forma a lo que lo absorbe y los 3 capítulos del relato formaron los 3 movimientos de Lo podrido.

I- Chainsaw Massacre Ballad

Un tópico es el de un planeta con un único habitante. El otro, el de situar los acontecimientos después o como consecuencia de un contexto de destrucción.

II- El eclipse

En la constelación de Ofiuco, orbitando la estrella Gliese 628, existe un planeta tres veces más grande que la Tierra que su único habitante bautizó Dante A. Aunque su período orbital es de solamente 17 días de 15 horas, para que se produzca un eclipse entre Dante A., Gliese y sus 2 lunas tiene que pasar más tiempo que toda la historia humana.

III- Un final precipitado

Como en algunos cuentos de Ted Chiang o Asimov, el final es un comienzo. A la vera de un río en Dante A., nuestro protagonista espera con miedo pero en paz. Lo podrido es una de las tantas formas de las que surge la vida.

Rottenness

The first months of composing Rottenness were simultaneous with the writing of a story that was ultimately absorbed by the music. But what is absorbed shapes what absorbs it, and the three chapters of the story became the three movements of Rottenness.

I - Chainsaw Massacre Ballad

One theme is that of a planet with a single inhabitant. The other is placing events after or as a consequence of a context of destruction.

II - The Eclipse

In the constellation of Ophiuchus, orbiting the star Gliese 628, there is a planet three times the size of Earth that its only inhabitant named Dante A. Although its orbital period is only 17 days and 15 hours, an eclipse involving Dante A., Gliese, and its two moons takes longer to occur than the entirety of human history.

III - A Hasty Ending

As in some stories by Ted Chiang or Asimov, the end is a beginning. By the bank of a river on Dante A., our protagonist waits in fear but at peace. Rottenness is one of the many forms from which life emerges
