
Clearly divided into three sections, the first and the last are based on modal intonations reminiscent of East-European folklore. In the middle section, four-part rhythmic canons in continuous diminution and bundles of four set-forms of the same tone-row create a heterophonic texture. A look at the irrecoverable past.
