- Decapoda is the order of crustaceans that encompasses crabs, lobsters, crayfish, and shrimp. The piece is inspired by observing the characteristic movements of crabs in tide pools and shallows. These movements can range from furtive, to bellicose, to almost listless, all carried out in a fashion at once comical, horrific, and strangely beautiful.
