Mindcrank–Dancebreak

Mindcrank—Dancebreak was written for the Mivos Quartet as part of the Vienna Contemporary Composers Festival. In many ways, the piece is a commentary on the compositional process itself. It begins with meticulous cerebral intensity, before emerging as an angular and sometimes abstract dance, one that struggles to break free. As the piece continues, the music gradually transforms and approaches a flow state. It ends with the dance in its final form, raw and unrestrained.
