- “A Misshapen Jig" playfully reimagines the traditional jig by setting it in an irregular 7/8 time signature instead of the usual 6/8, giving the dance a quirky, off-balance feel. Composed for piano, flute, oboe, and bassoon, the piece embraces a Neo-baroque style, featuring baroque counterpoint and a central fugal section. The lively, ornamented melodies and rhythmic twists create a sense of both elegance and unpredictability, blending the charm of Baroque dance forms with a modern rhythmic twist.
