- Notes on the Finale: The Presto Finale is meant to be a musical firework display. The movement begins with the cellos giving the home key and the upper voices of the orchestra hinting a future theme to come. From here the music builds and finally reveals the main theme of the finale, played by the horns. The entire DNA of the movement has been laid out by this point, and is about to explore multiple different avenues including brilliant fanfares, gentle chorales, devastating collapses, and blazing redemptions. From start to finish, this movement will have listeners on their toes eagerly awaiting what comes next.
