- Original Program Notes: 1: Mosasaurus "Skull analysis of these giant killers suggests that they hunted their prey by smell, channeling water through special internal nostrils, allowing them to silently hone in on their target." 2: Sinornithosaurus "They didn't have the muscles for powered flight, so instead it made the most of its four wings. By holding its rear legs back and to the side, it was able to become an incredibly efficient glider, moving through the forest in a series of long, looping glides. But with no ability to gain height, the only way is down." -BBC, Walking With Dinosaurs. /// Upon reflection, I realize now how influential Balinese Gamelan was on my writing back then, which is funny because at that time I wasn't conscious of that whatsoever (2013/14). The second piece seems to have some Kurtag-adjacent leanings, but I think that might just be the glissandi talking (well, shouting) at me. Kevin Wang played the hell out of this.
