- Noché is a multi-movement work for flute and vibraphone originally composed for Brightwork Newmusic Flute and Percussion duet. Noché is the Spanish word for ’night’ and this is because this work portrays the essence of the night life of the streets of South America, with no particular city-state in mind. This is up to the listener to decide. Counterpoint, struggle between the roles of soloist and ensemble member, dichotomy of familiar and unfamiliar, and fusion of free and strict form, are all elements integrated within this work.
