- ‘Renewal of the Dead' is intended as a ritual to help us find our way back to life when we have become lost or deadened in patterns. The parenthetical title 'for the benefit of all beings' is a buddhist dedication that often closes a sangha gathering or group session of meditation or practice and reminds everyone of the intention of practice- the benefit of all.
