- Program Notes
- This piece was written to accompany a movement piece that I performed with sculptor Cassie Freeth. She constructed a set of wearable sculptures for the performance, which we played on with a range of striking / stroking movements, responding to the intensities and sensations of the music. The musical images that I started with - a horn imitating the resonances of a low, growling sound, notation for a squall of harsh noise - were unified by the ramshackle, sadomasochistically vulnerable style of Cassie’s sculptures as we worked in tandem.
