- "Trio: after an étude by Hélène de Montgeroult, composer*" was composed for Terra Invisus during a months-long dive into the large number of études that survive the French composer and pianist Hélène de Montgeroult. The trio is a simple piece about repetition and difference, about gentle symmetry, about watercolour, and about playing together. The title of the referenced étude—no. 28 (1820)—is roughly translated as “a song that carries its accompaniment in the same hand.”
