- Program Notes
- diferent-tongues explores many of the overlaps between the human voice and the string quartet. Performers are asked to vocalize: making percussive sounds, swishing noises, and humming in conjunction with standard playing. The piece moves from clear separation of voice and ensemble toward an obscuring of timbrel divide before moving back to a clear separation, going through a processes of disembodiment and re-embodiment.
