TRUCMACHIN focuses on the bass clarinet as an object. What we know today as a culturally transmitted instrument can also be considered, in terms of flat ontology, as an object with several mechanical functions, all of which can be the subject of research, just like the clarinet's typical sound, which is by no means excluded from research. On the contrary, this sound is understood as a sequence of several mechanical movements that produce a culturally connoted pitch. In general, this exploration can be thought of as a doctor listening to the human body with a stethoscope. The reader is equipped with different types of microphones (intramic, Lavalier), sometimes to capture the most intimate sounds in the manner of ASMR, but also condenser microphones for more distant sounds. To this sound is added an 8 channel amplification , which sometimes shift this exploration from the intimate mechanical to the allusive and associative, without ever losing the relationship to the bass clarinet as a mechanical object.
