- The piece builds upon the idea of electric guitars being “mute” instruments – dependent on electronic amplification to be heard—to explore the concept of sound “becoming”. This is done by using relatively soft and pitchless playing techniques and fleshing them out in various ways via the live electronics. The question then arises—what is the instruments’ “real” sound in this context?
