This piece is a set of five canons, played back-to-back: all four parts play (almost) the exact same thing, but starting at different times and at different pitches. And most interestingly: different tempos. Inspired by the polytemporal player piano works of Conlon Nancarrow, this piece adopts similar compositional techniques of his work: keep an ear open for moments where the canons align!
Recording Notes
The piece was designed to work with flexible instrumentation; any part can be covered by pretty much any instrument, as long as they have the right range. The submitted recording was made with flute/harp/cello/bassoon.
