Twitcher was made from a months-long project with the pianist/birder Kai Frueh and aims to capture and replicate the sonic presence of birds while displaying an obvious physical absence. To do this, I compiled and collaged various field recordings of birds that Kai had recorded over the years and placed them in an audio track that is to be played on a Bluetooth Exciter/Transducer. The transducer should be placed in a location of maximum resonance, and the pianist should aim for a balance between scarcity and spontaneity so as to accompany the birds but not dominate the sonic space they occupy.
