- Program Notes
- There is an iconic sound associated with the dark cinematography and morally ambiguous characters of Neo-Noir films. Think of the scores for A Streetcar Named Desire, Taxi Driver, and Twin Peaks; jazz proliferates the medium and contributes to the troubling, hedonistic atmosphere. Will-O’-The-Wisp is a narrative short film that follows two young women on the run from the police, and in true Neo-Noir style, we’ve written a full jazz ensemble score with strings and harp to accompany their complicated situation.
