- Program Notes
- Through a Haze was written for Unheard-Of//Ensemble as part of the 2023 Collaborative Composition Initiative. In writing this piece, I intended to create something beautiful, potently expressive, yet restrained. I was inspired by the emotional impact of drawn-out harmony juxtaposed against, and clouded by moments of angst. As I described to a friend of mine, my experience of listening to music written in this way is like peering at a shimmering object through a haze, or through a fog.
