- ‘self-portrait (or a hug)’ is a short piece written originally for two toy pianos during the summer of 2023, this time fabulously performed by Maurycy Maria Stawujak on a 19th century Viennese fortepiano. I’ve never been really good at taking selfies, I rarely appear on photos too. It’s not because I’m shy (although in fact I am quite shy), but because it is not my habit. This piece, while still evidently not a photo, is a small exercise in self-indulgence - an illustration of a climactic moment in a meaningful story.
