Program Notes: "Dvom in upanje," or "doubt and hope" in Slovenian, are both unstable states of mind oriented towards the future. They are directed towards an object that one desires to attain or a person that one wants to reach but has not yet succeeded in doing so. This object of longing is different for every individual, but we all have something we long for. Doubt and hope are distinguished by the inner judgment that one makes. When we are optimistic, we hope. When fear takes over us, we start to doubt.
