- Program Notes
- A project born from the heart of migrant musicians and creators, who left their homeland to open artistic doors elsewhere. This music is dedicated to other migrants, who have had to walk through a tough journey of suffering, a painful adventure not yet fully understood by many. In Central America, lots of people leave their homes and travel north. Many of them embark in a dangerous travel in the back of a monster called “La Bestia”, a train going through Mexico, who eats and kills many of its courageous riders. This music is also about a monster, where one can hear three distinct elements : First, the call of a Mesoamerican indigenous instrument, a kind of very shrill and piercing oboe ; second, flat landscapes and large horizons such as endless seas or deserts, full of both hope and danger ; third, the cries of the Hydra, that mythological being that grows double or triple its heads when the fighter cuts one of them.
