- Program Notes
- Commissioned by L'Instant Donné and Radio France for the France Musique radio show "Création Mondiale", the piece has been composed in the frame of a workshop with L'instant Donné and Georges Aperghis (2022-2023). It is inspired by the eponymous poem by Bernard Noël (1930-2021) and offers five variations around the desire to express oneself, the impulse to speak out, which encounters numerous constraints or impediments. String instruments are prepared with various objects (clothespins, crocodile clips, aluminum foil pockets...), and the clarinet employs numerous altered fingerings and, for some movements, plays solely with the upper body of the instrument.
